2nd Year University of Wollongong Production of Dorothy Hewett’s play, directed by Dr. Janys Hayes.

It deals with the fluctuating fortunes of the Dockerty family living in Redfern, Sydney, in the 1950’s. Tom Dockerty is working class to his boots and a member of the Communist Party. (As was Dorothy Hewett who did live in Redfern at this time.) His wife, Laurie, the former “Belle of Bundaberg” has not coped so well with seven kids and inner city living and has taken to drinking heavily.
