2022 Katie Lees Fellowship Archives:

“The Katie Lees Fellowship is designed to support a young female/female identifying theatre maker. Flight Path Theatre was awarded a grant through Inner West Council and together with generous donations from Katie’s friends and family made in her honour, we will support a theatre maker through a development period of a script/concept at Flight Path Theatre, culminating in a run of the production later this year. This process will include three separate weeks of development time in the theatre with other creatives and a performance in September/October 2022.

The fellowship is open to all female/female identifying artists who are 34 years old or younger.

A heartfelt thank you to all of the donors to the Katie Lees Fellowship for 2022. We hope this fellowship continues for many years to come.”

Inaugural Katie Lees Fellowship Finalists, 2022

“It is with great excitement and joy that we announce the joint recipients of the inaugural Katie Lees Fellowship. We just simply could not decide and in true Katie inclusiveness, we decided there could be two fellows! We intend this to be a yearly fellowship, so to everyone who applied or thought about applying and to those who didn’t even know you wanted to… See you next year and thank you for your beautiful creativity. Congratulations to Megan Bennetts and Anna Clark – we are so excited to be working with you!” – Flight Path Theatre

Congratulations!

Anna Clark

“Anna is an actor and writer from Echuca in Northern Victoria. Before graduating from the BFA Acting at NIDA in 2020, she wrote little films, and even had one called “Crowded Couch” screen at Setting Sun Short Film Festival in Footscray. After graduating, she wrote and co-directed her next film, “Mind Control,” a dark comedy featuring an unnerving dolphin. Anna is passionate about telling female driven stories, particularly when she is the driver – you can’t be an actor without being a bit of an attention seeker.

Some of her fun theatre acting credits include Loose Teeth (La Mama), When the Rain Stops Falling (NIDA), The Last Journalist on Earth (Melbourne Fringe), and The Cat (NIDA FOEA).”

Megan Bennetts

“Megan is an Honours graduate of the University of Wollongong’s Performance course, and is currently studying for her MA in Creative Writing at UTS. As an actor, she’s performed with the Australian Shakespeare Company, at the New Theatre in Picnic At Hanging Rock, at the Sydney Fringe in The Works of William Shakespeare (By Chicks), with SheShakespeare in Macbeth at PACT, as well as with Mongrel Mouth Theatre Company, Merringong Theatre in Wollongong and at RADA in London. She is honoured and humbled to be chosen as one of the first recipients of this fellowship in memory of beautiful Katie and looks forward to flopping out her deepest darkest secrets all over the FlightPath stage later this year.”
